Eega Brilliant entertainer that makes TFI proud
Do you like this story?
‘Eega’ has released across the world today in a big way and the movie has been directed by S.S.Rajamouli. Music has been scored by Keeravani and the film has Samantha,Nani and Sudeep in lead roles. Let us see how the movie is.
Story:
Nani(Nani) lives opposite the house of Bindu (Samantha) and he is madly in love with her. Bindu is a miniature artist and a social worker who runs an NGO. She too loves him, but never expresses it to Nani and prefers to keep him guessing. As time goes by, Sudeep (Sudeep) comes into Bindu’s life as a very rich benefactor of Bindu’s NGO and he starts coveting her.
Sudeep is a cruel guy by nature and he does not hesitate to kill. When he comes to know of Nani’s love for Bindu, he brutally kills off Nani. A dying Nani comes to know that Bindu too loves him and this strong love for Bindu causes him to be reborn as an Eega.
The rest of the story is about how the Eega conveys who he is to Bindu and about how they take revenge on Sudeep together.
Plus Points:
The movie has some outstanding performances but Sudeep takes the cake. He is terrific as the villainous guy and his screen presence is riveting. Sudeep is a major asset for the movie.
Samantha comes up with a good performance and she looks very cute in the movie. Her interaction sequences with the Eega are heartwarming.
Nani delivers a humorous and spirited performance in the brief role that he has. He has good comedy timing. Srinivasa Reddy and Thagubothu Ramesh bring a few laughs.
S.S. Rajamouli’s direction and screenplay deserve special mention. The story moves along at a terrific pace and the buildup to the interval is amazing. Good humour and solid drama keep viewers deeply involved in the film. The special effects are of very high quality and they have never been seen in Telugu Cinema before.
The emotional struggle of the Eega and its cute mannerisms will endear it to kids. Don’t be surprised if your kids bug you for an Eega toy after this movie.
The climax block and the way the Eega extracts its revenge will bring whistles and claps from front benchers. Eega also performs Chiranjeevi’s Indra step and Jr NTR’s Yamadonga step during the climax title cards.
Minus Points:
The second half of the movie dips slightly when compared to the first half. But it picks up again towards the climax.
The aghora element and his supernatural powers could have been used in a more sinister way.
Technical Aspects:
Keeravani’s background score is terrific and it makes a lot of difference in key scenes. Hats off to him. Editing is crisp and dialogues are neat. Cinematography is decent.
Visual effects and CGI images are of a very high quality and they are worth applauding. Eega’s revenge sequences have been well conceived by Rajamouli and the SFX team
Verdict:
As I said before, Eega makes us all proud to be a part of the Telugu Film Industry. It is wildly entertaining, hilarious at times and the Eega really endears itself to viewers. Don’t miss out on ‘Eega’. These kind of films don’t come very often.
